There was a time when even the simplest daily routine felt impossible.
During cancer treatment, our founder became deeply sensitive to the world in ways they had never known before. The smell of shampoo was too sharp. Cleansers burned on contact. Fragrances lingered heavily in the air. Harsh surfactants left already sensitized skin feeling stripped, tight, and overwhelmed.
What had once been ordinary — washing, bathing, caring for the body — became something to endure.
In that vulnerable season, our founder searched for products that felt truly gentle. Not products filled with promises, but ones that simply did less. Less irritation. Less fragrance. Less noise. Yet again and again, the options felt too complicated, too harsh, too far from what the body needed.
So ON:GI was born.
The meaning of ON:GI
ON:GI (온기, 溫氣) means warmth in Korean — not only physical warmth, but the gentle human warmth that comes from sincerity, compassion, and connection.
The name also carries another layer of meaning. ON speaks to turning energy on — igniting positivity, vitality, and light. GI (기, 氣) means energy or life force in Korean. Together, ON:GI expresses the feeling of turning on the energy that warms and connects.
Even the colon — : — has meaning. It symbolizes connection: East and West, skin and spirit, tradition and innovation, Korea and the world.
Out of discomfort came a quiet idea: remove everything unnecessary. Keep only what truly cares for skin. Create something simple enough to comfort, and honest enough to trust.
We leave out what does not belong. No sulfates. No parabens. No fragrance. No unnecessary additives. Every ingredient is carefully chosen to meet EWG scale 0–1 only, and to be non-GMO and gentle by design.
That same intention extends beyond the formula. ON:GI is wrapped without plastic, using zero-waste packaging and Korean hanji paper — a thoughtful material rooted in tradition, simplicity, and respect.
Each beauty bar is shaped and wrapped by hand, like a small act of healing.
